Uninsulated blade receptacles with various mating thicknesses

Discover the versatility of connection technology with Hilpress blade receptacles. Our high-quality products offer you reliable electrical connections, efficiency and flexibility in their use.

What are flat receptacles?

Flat receptacles are metal electrical connectors used to connect flat plugs and cables. They ensure a fast, secure, and detachable electrical connection. Hilpress offers a wide range of standard and specialized versions made of bare or electro‑tinned brass, suitable for a variety of applications.

Are flat receptacles and flat plugs compatible?

Yes. All Hilpress flat receptacles and flat plugs are compatible with each other, provided that the plug width and thickness of both components match.

Which dimensions are important for flat receptacles?

Three dimensions are essential when identifying the correct product size:

  • Cross‑section: in mm² – indicates which cable cross‑section can be inserted into the rear end of the receptacle.
  • Plug thickness: in mm – defines the thickness of the flat mating contact (standard values: 0.5 mm and 0.8 mm).
  • Plug width: in mm – defines the distance between both walls of the receptacle (standard widths: 2.8 mm, 4.8 mm and 6.3 mm).

Do Hilpress flat receptacles comply with DIN standards?

Many of our flat receptacles comply with relevant DIN and EN standards. The appropriate standard (e.g. DIN 46247 Part 1 or DIN 46345) can be found on the product detail pages.

Which types of flat receptacles does Hilpress offer?

Hilpress flat receptacles are available in both insulated and uninsulated versions. Each version fulfills specific application requirements: uninsulated types are ideal for installations with additional protection, while insulated types provide extra safety against accidental contact thanks to PVC or polycarbonate insulation.

Standard flat receptacles

Uninsulated standard flat receptacles

Uninsulated standard flat receptacles are manufactured in accordance with DIN 46247 Part 1 or similar standards. They are made of brass, available with a bare (MS) or electro‑tinned (VZ) surface finish. The cable entry is pre‑rolled to simplify crimping with the appropriate crimping tool.

Insulated standard flat receptacles

Insulated standard flat receptacles meet the same dimensional standards but include additional insulation made of PVC or polycarbonate. They are available both with and without metallic insulation support, ensuring stable connections and reliable mechanical strength.

Flat receptacles with branch connection

Uninsulated flat receptacles with branch connection

Uninsulated flat receptacles with branch connection are manufactured according to DIN 46345 or similar specifications. They enable parallel connection to an additional cable. The designations MS and VS stand for bare and electro‑tinned brass respectively. This type is frequently used in machinery, control cabinets, or automotive wiring.

Insulated flat receptacles with branch connection

Insulated flat receptacles with branch connection offer the same functionality with additional insulation made of PVC or polycarbonate. They are also available with or without metallic insulation support and provide extended protection against accidental electrical contact.

Flat receptacles with latching tongue

Flat receptacles with latching tongue feature a spring locking mechanism for snap‑fit installation in compatible housings or connectors. They are manufactured from brass and available with either bare or tinned surfaces (MS / VZ). There is no insulated version for this model.

Flat receptacles with lateral conductor connection

Flat receptacles with lateral conductor connection are uninsulated connectors where the wire is inserted from the side rather than from the rear. This version is especially useful where space is limited. Made of brass with bare or tinned finish. Hilpress also provides appropriate crimping tools for these connectors.

Special types: fully insulated and angled flat receptacles

Fully insulated flat receptacles

Fully insulated flat receptacles are completely encapsulated with PVC or polycarbonate insulation. They offer full protection against accidental contact and are suitable for use in industrial applications requiring enhanced electrical safety.

Angled fully insulated flat receptacles

Angled fully insulated flat receptacles have a bent terminal design that allows secure connections even in confined spaces. As with all fully insulated versions, they are completely covered with PVC or polycarbonate insulation and manufactured from high‑quality brass.
