Reusable gusset ties for flexible fastening

Gusset ties differ from conventional cable ties mainly because they can be released easily. They can be opened and reused whenever a bundle or closure should not remain permanently fixed.

This makes them suitable for applications in which materials need to be bundled, opened and closed again regularly. A typical application is closing bags and sacks.

Gusset ties can also be used wherever a releasable bundle is required and the dimensions and load capacity match the application.

HP-FIXIT® gusset ties made from polyamide 6.6

HILPRESS HP-FIXIT® gusset ties are made from polyamide 6.6 in natural colour. The material is specified according to UL 94 V-2 and has a temperature resistance from -40 °C to +80 °C.

The gusset ties are also resistant to oil, petrol, seawater, solvents, mould and diluted weak organic acids. These material properties allow them to be used under different operating conditions.

Different lengths and bundle diameters

HILPRESS offers HP-FIXIT® gusset ties in several sizes. The available lengths range from 100 mm to 280 mm.

Depending on the size, maximum bundle diameters from 25 mm to 75 mm can be covered. Short versions with lengths of 100 mm or 120 mm are suitable for smaller bundles.

Larger gusset ties with lengths of 226 mm or 280 mm allow correspondingly larger bundle diameters. This makes it possible to match the design to the size of the material to be bundled or closed.

Selecting gusset ties according to tensile strength

In addition to length and maximum bundle diameter, tensile strength is an important selection criterion. The gusset ties offered by HILPRESS have different tensile strengths depending on their size.

The available versions range from 78 N for smaller designs up to 215 N for the largest available version. When selecting a product, the length, maximum bundle diameter and required tensile strength should therefore be considered together.

How to choose the right gusset tie

First determine the diameter of the material to be bundled or closed. Then select a suitable length.

The maximum permitted bundle diameter of the respective product must not be exceeded. For applications subject to higher mechanical loads, the specified tensile strength should also be taken into account.

If the closure needs to be opened regularly, reusable HP-FIXIT® gusset ties are a suitable alternative to permanently closing cable ties.
