Self-adhesive CE marks for equipment identification
CE marks make the required CE marking visible directly on a product or piece of equipment. HILPRESS CE markings are self-adhesive and can therefore be applied to suitable surfaces.
Depending on the available space, different sizes can be selected. Small CE marks are particularly suitable for equipment with limited space for markings, while larger versions provide a more clearly visible display.
The range includes round CE marks with diameters of 10 mm, 12.5 mm, 16 mm, 20 mm and 30 mm. A rectangular version measuring 15 × 20 mm is also available.
CE markings made from PVC and polyester film
The CE markings are made from self-adhesive plastic films. HILPRESS offers PVC film and polyester film versions.
The CE marks are white with black printing. The materials differ particularly in terms of their temperature resistance. PVC film is specified for a temperature range from -30 °C to +70 °C. Polyester film is designed for a wider temperature range from -40 °C to +135 °C.
When selecting a product, you should therefore consider not only the required size but also the temperatures to which the marking will be exposed during use. The material used for the respective product can be found in the specific product data.
Choosing the right CE marking size
The appropriate dimensions depend in particular on the available marking area on the equipment. HILPRESS offers different sizes so that the CE marking can be adapted to various product and housing dimensions.
Applying CE marks securely and visibly
Compact versions with diameters of 10 mm or 12.5 mm require very little space. Larger versions with diameters of 16, 20 or 30 mm provide a correspondingly larger display.
The 15 × 20 mm version provides an additional rectangular CE marking. In addition to the dimensions, the material, temperature range and condition of the intended adhesive surface should be taken into account when selecting a product.
What does CE marking mean?
CE marking is used for products that fall under the relevant European harmonisation legislation. By affixing the CE marking, the responsible manufacturer declares that the product complies with the requirements applicable to that product and that the required conformity assessment procedures have been carried out.
A self-adhesive CE mark serves exclusively as a visible marking. Applying a CE mark on its own does not establish CE conformity.
Before applying a CE mark, it must therefore be determined whether CE marking is required for the respective product and whether all applicable requirements have been fulfilled.
When using self-adhesive CE markings, a suitable and clean surface should be selected. The size must be chosen so that the marking can be applied visibly and legibly in accordance with the requirements applicable to the respective product.
The operating conditions should also be taken into account. If the equipment is exposed to higher or lower temperatures, the temperature resistance of the film material is particularly important. PVC and polyester versions offer different temperature ranges.
