What are ground straps?

Ground straps are flexible, electrically conductive connections made from fine copper wires that are braided together. They are used for potential equalization, grounding, and safe current transmission in electrical installations. Thanks to their flat shape, they are easy to install and can be optimally adapted to confined installation spaces.

What are the material properties of ground straps?

A ground strap is typically made of electrolytic copper (E-Cu) with a copper content of at least 99.9%. The surface is galvanically tin-plated to ensure high corrosion resistance and long-term conductivity. The tinned surface protects the copper braid from oxidation and enables reliable use both indoors and outdoors.

How is a ground strap constructed?

The ground strap is made from fine copper strands woven into a flat braid. It features rectangular or round connection ends, depending on the design and application. The shape provides excellent heat dissipation and high flexibility.
